As an artist who moves effortlessly between different worlds, the German-Portuguese guitarist and composer Fabian Zeller combines the southern joy of playing and the emotional intensity of Fado with the refined structures of popular and classical music traditions. His reputation as a virtuoso magician with a distinctive musical voice is confirmed by none other than guitar legend Carlo Domeniconi: “The guitar needs musicians like this!”
Fabian Zeller’s concerts have been praised by audiences and critics alike as “guitar fire” (*Ostsee-Zeitung*). Whether performing Joaquín Rodrigo’s world-famous *Concierto de Aranjuez* as a soloist with orchestras such as the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra, presenting his world music-inspired solo programme—featured on his 2018 album *Novo Mundo*—or appearing in projects such as the duo Resonado and the groove-jazz band Flowin Tension, he has earned international recognition. His performances have taken him to major venues including the Dresden Kulturpalast, as well as renowned music festivals and concert halls in Europe's major cities, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. His compositions are published by distinguished publishers including Schott Music, Acoustic Music, and Edition Margaux, and are performed by renowned musicians around the world. In addition, Fabian Zeller is a sought-after composer for film and television, with his music featured in numerous productions. Fabian Zeller studied in Germany and, with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), in Brazil. He is among the select few guitarists admitted to the Master Class in Acoustic Guitar at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden. Gitarrenfestival Dresden As co-founder and artistic director of the Dresden Guitar Festival, Fabian Zeller is also committed to fostering international musical exchange.
