As an artist who moves effortlessly between different worlds, the German-Portuguese guitarist and composer Fabian Zeller combines the southern joy of playing and the emotional intensity of Fado with the refined structures of popular and classical music traditions. His reputation as a virtuoso magician with a distinctive musical voice is confirmed by none other than guitar legend Carlo Domeniconi: “The guitar needs musicians like this!”
His concerts are described by audiences and the press as “a blaze of guitar” (Ostseezeitung). Whether as a sought-after soloist with orchestras such as the Robert Schumann Philharmonic, performing the world-famous “Concierto de Aranjuez,” or with his world music solo program, from his CD “Novo Mundo,” or in projects such as the Duo Resonado or with the groove-jazz band Flowin Tension—the young artist has gained international recognition both at major venues such as the Kulturpalast in Dresden and at renowned music festivals, as well as in concert halls in major cities across Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. His compositions are published by renowned publishers such as Schott, Acoustic Music, and Edition Margaux, among others, and are performed worldwide by renowned musicians. In addition, Fabian Zeller is a composer for Film and television, whose music can be heard in numerous productions. Fabian Zeller studied in Germany and, with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), in Brazil. He is among the select few guitarists admitted to the Master Class in Acoustic Guitar at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden. As co-founder and artistic director of the international guitar festival of Dresden Fabian Zeller is also committed to promoting international musical exchange.
